The obverse depicts the porter of politician and electrical scientist Benjamin Franklin, in the background you can see an outline of the text from the Declaration of Independence.>
The painting shows the building where the most important document, the Declaration of Independence, was signed, i.e. Independence Hall, which is now a tourist attraction and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Whos 50? The portrait depicts the eighteenth president and commander-in-chief, General Ulysses S. Grant. Additional elements that can be noticed are the signature of the treasurer and secretary as well as the Federal Reserve and Treasury seals, with the US flag in the background.
