At our exchange office you can sell withdrawn banknotes of the eighth series of the Swiss franc, which are shown on our website - these are banknotes with denominations from 10 to 1000 CHF. We would like to remind you that these banknotes are no longer used in Switzerland, i.e. they are not an official means of payment and they can only be exchanged in a bank for newer, of course appropriate forms, and in specific banks - but they can be exchanged at our exchange office for newer ones or for Polish zlotys. Please pay special attention to the appearance of the banknotes because they are often considered to be currently used in Switzerland, but they are easy to recognize because the obverses depict people and the latest series of Swiss francs, which can also be seen on the website frank-szwajcarski.pl, do not feature any people. What was the purpose of the withdrawal or why were these banknotes withdrawn from circulation? You may ask yourself such a question? So its mainly about the fact that they did not have sufficient protection against counterfeiting, but the last series currently in circulation has better protection against counterfeiters and these banknotes are more difficult to counterfeit.
So what can you do if you have these banknotes - contact our employee by phone at 71 7071 606 or send an e-mail to kontakt@kantorywroclaw.pl or visit our currency exchange office in person where you can immediately exchange it for Polish zlotys . On the day of withdrawal of the 8th series, the latest 9th series was put into circulation, where the main themes of the banknotes are time, light, wind, water, matter, and language. Interestingly, these are the only Swiss banknotes so far that do not feature portraits of famous or outstanding people. Please also remember that in addition to the eighth series, which is officially withdrawn from circulation, our exchange office also purchases the sixth series of Swiss franc banknotes. To check the information, just go to a specific tab. You may ask, where has the 7th series gone? Why was it not put into circulation after the 6th series was withdrawn? Work on the seventh series, i.e. preparation of the design and matrices, etc., was done together with the sixth series. They were similar series, but the 7th series was not introduced because there was no mass falsification of the previous series and it was actually a series prepared for such an eventuality.
If you do not live in Wrocław, we have branches in other towns: Katowice Rybnik Racibórz Żory, where we also buy withdrawn 8 series banknotes from the Swiss franc. Please contact our employees.
The obverse of the banknote with the largest denomination features a portrait of the art historian and prose writer Jacob Burckhardt.
The subject of the verse is the window of the Palazzo Strozzi in Florence, one of the most beautiful from that period. An additional element is a fragment of the Pergamon Altar and the dome of the Pantheon is visible in the background.
This banknote depicts the image of a particularly gifted and prolific 20th century writer, Charles Ferdinand Ramuz, whose work included novels, poetry and essays.
On the reverse there is an image of the peak of the Diablerets massif in Lavaux.
The obverse depicts a portrait of the famous painter and sculptor Alberto Giacometti, who is considered a forerunner of expressionism and surrealism in sculpture.
The main elements on the reverse are the bronze bust of Lothair II and the sculpture Homme Qui Marche.
Porter presents the outstanding sculptor, painter and clothing designer Sophie Taeuber-Arp is one of the forerunners of contemporary art in many aspects of life. Color obverse: green and dark green.
The reverse shows examples of Sophie Täuber-Arps abstract (modern) works.
Another outstanding figure featured in the portraits of the 8th series is the world-famous composer of classical music, Arthur Honegger, who also created symphonic and opera pieces, as well as film music and theater. The color of the banknote is red.
The painting shows elements of instruments and a locomotive: trumpet valves, a steam locomotive wheel, a score and piano keys.
The main colors on this banknote are yellow and brown and their gradient. The person in the portrait is Charles Edouard Jeanneret, a famous architect and designer of large urbanizations and agglomerations. He was concerned about the difficult existence of people in urban agglomerations and wanted to improve their lives by building the most optimal combination of residential and industrial buildings.
The painting shows a map of a city in Chandigarh, India, which is difficult to guess. Interestingly, a Pole had previously worked on the plan of this city - but the work was completed by Le Corbusier.
